Sunday, Anthony Kim, the 23-year-old from Los Angeles fired a bogey-free 5-under-par 65 at Congressional Country Club to earn a two-stroke victory over Fredrik Jacobson in the second AT&T National hosted by Tiger Woods. Earlier this year, Kim scored a five-shot win in the Wachovia Championship, his first PGA Tour title.
Sunday’s triumph helped Kim become the first American under the age of 25 since Woods to prevail twice in the same year on the PGA Tour. Kim was rewarded with a check for $1.08 million, a likely spot on the U.S. Ryder Cup Team, and a call from Woods, who was unable to attend the event due to recent knee surgery.
