Whats Good?
Oversized viewing area
The massive viewing screen (3.78″ x 2.5″) makes sure you see your whole work space even at awkward angles. In the world of welding helmets, bigger is always better. DIN certified.
Cheater/ magnifying lens compatible
People need to use different lenses for different reasons which is why the Antra AH6-660-0000 is so convenient. If you wear glasses but cant stand to wear them while welding, get yourself a magnifying lens. You’ll never have to worry about your glasses again.
Grind mode
This all purpose hood features a grind mode which drops the shade from its regular range to a much lower setting allowing for protection from grinding and torches.
Lightest helmet we have
At a mere 435g this helmet is the lightest helmet we’ve reviewed so far. No more neck pain at the end of the day, you’ll be able to work hours of overtime with ease. This helmet is a joy to use.
Comes with 4 arc sensors
Four sensors means the helmet will turn on exactly when you need it to without fail. Have peace of mind that your helmet will keep you safe.
Numerous designs to choose from
Tired of the same old boring black helmet? The Antra AH6-660 comes in a variety of different paint jobs to fit your unique style. From flaming skulls to ghosts to American eagles you’ll hardly be able to decide.
Whats Bad?
Plastic nuts lose grip
The plastic nuts that hold the helmet up keep loosening. However if you replace them with steel bolts the problem is solved.
Feels a bit thin
It’s being ultra lightweight has an unfortunate downside – its a bit flimsy. The plastic feels slightly cheap but if you don’t throw it around like a football it will be fine.
Loose knobs
Users are reporting the step-less knobs are loose and rotate without adjusting them resulting in sudden change of shade.
The Verdict
This is the best welding helmet you can buy for under $100. It boasts a huge viewing area cheater lens compatibility. The helmets light weight ensures that it is great for beginners and hobbyists who aren’t used to wearing a hood all day. With 4 premium arc sensors, it rivals higher end helmets which often only include 2 or 3. And with so many choices of designs you can pick the one that suits your look.
