Auto Darkening
The auto darkening filter (ADF) includes knobs to adjust sensitivity, shade and delay allowing you to alter your view for any job. With a shade range of 9-13 and a .00015 second reaction time, this helmet is top notch. The auto darkening filter (ADF) has the best EN 379 rating ensuring quality optical performance.
Lightweight
This helmet is surprisingly light at 20 oz( 565g) and is ultra-comfortable, so you’ll love wearing it. Featuring the same design as the Jackson Safety 370 (widely considered the best safety headgear on the market) this is one helmet you wont mind wearing all day.
Highly adjustable
The Jackson Safety W70 BH3 allows you to adjust your helmet for maximum comfort using 3 different headgear adjustments to ensure you focus on the job and not discomfort.
Meets all safety standards
The lightweight, high-density plastic shell protects the wearer from weld sparks and spatters. The aerodynamic curved front cover plate offers reduced heat built-up, reflections and fogging. DIN Plus certified and meets ANSI/ ISEAs standards.
Solar powered
Never worry about batteries. This helmet is solar powered so you’ll have one less thing to worry about when getting to work.
Whats Bad?
No Grind Mode
Unfortunately with a lower shade limit of 9 this helmet is not technically adequate for grinding or torch use. Despite this however, some people have reported using it for grinding while on the lowest setting.
Only 2 Sensors
While many higher end helmets have 4 sensors, 2 is actually more than sufficient.
No Test Button
The test button ensures that the helmet is working as it should. The Jackson Safety W70 BH3 can only be tested through an actual arc. This is hardly ever a problem but might take some getting use too.
The Verdict
The Jackson Safety W70 BH3 is definitely our top choice. With its near perfect optical clarity and massive viewing field you’ll see everything, ensuring top quality work. It’s comfort is unparalleled with 3 separate dials to adjust to fit your head perfectly. It’s super quick reaction speed (.00015 seconds) will keep you out of danger at all times. The helmet comes with a lengthy 5 year warranty.
We cant recommend this helmet enough. From beginners looking to buy just ONE helmet ever to professionals looking to add to their collection, this helmet is perfect for the value it provides.
